Some words of inspiration...

Quote of the Month: Fashion is a profound and critical part of the social life of man as sex, and is made up of the same ambivalent mixture of irresistible urges and inevitable taboos - Rene Konig

Now we know what Marc´s secret is..

...on designing clothes for women.
The cover was shown last year but now we have the spread!! the full spread, and look how he works that bag and the heels.
I always wonder if; to create women's clothe, create a collection, create an empire based on what a women needs and likes, having that inner girl or  femininity is what makes you or brake you in the fashion world?
Would being in touch with your femininity or masculinity, (even if you dont want to) influence every design that you put forward?
Of course it does, and thats why the fashion world is so diverse. If you take a good look at all the Top of The Top designers, they are mostly men designing for women, and when we have a women designing for women (like Comme des Garçons) we get the ultimate women/men outfit.  Obviously we cant say that this is always the case, we have Stella McCartney for instance.
I think that over the history women have been so repressed to Clothes. For years, although fashion changed, one sort of aspect remained: Femininity. At the end women rebel to that idea, and when women design, they design to create something unconventional. (not in terms of process, of thought but in terms of the end product). Instead men focus on the  process, on the colors, what will make it pop, different silhouettes yes, but still feminine. When a women design for women now and days, and they are portraying that feminine side, they go the total oposite. For example: so, women are suppose to wear bright colors. then i will do all my collection in beige and whites. you use plastic and leather, i go eco-friendly to the extreme.

Its just a thought, maybe im wrong, but i can definitely see a pattern.
